Morning HellKats!

This is what we've all been working toward - the gut-wrenching, lung-
searing, lactic-acid spiking hell that is the 5th Avenue Mile. We're
cutting back the number of reps while keeping the training intensity/
leg turnover in high gear tomorrow at the McCarren Oval.

Details:

Meet at the recycling bins, north end of the track, 6AM

-2 lap warm up
-3 x 300, Mile Race Pace, 300m jog recovery
-3 x 200, Mile Race Pace, 200m jog recovery
-Cool down
-Core

As always, please review your paces prior to the workout.

Paces here: http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm

See y'all bright and early!

NBR Wednesday Night Road Run - 9/21 - 7:30PM

Hi guys,
Come out and join us for a run through good ol' Greenpoint up through
LIC for our "2 Bridges" run. It'll be awesome.

below is the route:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5013584

When: 7:30PM (We are departing at 7:35 so don't be late)
Meet at: McCarren Park track near Driggs (at the recycling bins)
Distance: 4.95 miles

As always, all paces are welcome. We'll be breaking up into pace
groups and I'll be tagging along with the "not as fast" group, so we
can all finish together and do some core as a group.

Hugs and thugs,
Jess & Katie & Charlie

Let's just say that the start of the race can get pretty rough. Mathematically, it's like this: (team champs x empire state building run-up x a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds throwing elbows). If you throw chicken wings on both sides, you're more likely to stay upright. If you hear screaming, keep running. Also be cautious of the kid with crutches who seems to think it's a good idea to push to the front off the start.

Apparently, I did! I may chose to do the SFR instead though, due to brand loyalty.

NBR Re: OT: Bushwick Community Board Meeting Tonight

It's always a good idea to ask the CB District Manager if there's a
publicly available agenda prior to a full monthly Community Board
meeting. There will be a few minutes planned for public comment prior
to the official start of the meeting but comments/concerns are more
likely to be heard/acted upon if they're in relation to standing
agenda items.

Re: Isochronic mental workout for IQ/focus.

Interesting - so do you think it is possibly counterproductive to use it for longer than that?

Has there actually been much rigorous research conducted on the subject generally?
