cutting back the number of reps while keeping the training intensity/
leg turnover in high gear tomorrow at the McCarren Oval.
Details:

-2 lap warm up
-3 x 300, Mile Race Pace, 300m jog recovery
-3 x 200, Mile Race Pace, 200m jog recovery

-Core
As always, please review your paces prior to the workout.

NBR Wednesday Night Road Run - 9/21 - 7:30PM
Come out and join us for a run through good ol' Greenpoint up through
LIC for our "2 Bridges" run. It'll be awesome.
below is the route:
http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5013584
When: 7:30PM (We are departing at 7:35 so don't be late)
Meet at: McCarren Park track near Driggs (at the recycling bins)
Distance: 4.95 miles
As always, all paces are welcome. We'll be breaking up into pace
groups and I'll be tagging along with the "not as fast" group, so we
can all finish together and do some core as a group.
Hugs and thugs,
Jess & Katie & Charlie

Let's just say that the start of the race can get pretty rough. Mathematically, it's like this: (team champs x empire state building run-up x a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds throwing elbows). If you throw chicken wings on both sides, you're more likely to stay upright. If you hear screaming, keep running. Also be cautious of the kid with crutches who seems to think it's a good idea to push to the front off the start.

Re: Isochronic mental workout for IQ/focus.
I think one should use brainwave entrainment for a maximum of 60 minutes.

K448 sonata for two pianos by Mozart does it by synchronizing neuronal
activation
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1281386/
"after listening to Mozart's sonata for two pianos (K448) for 10
minutes, normal subjects showed significantly better spatial reasoning
skills than after periods of listening to relaxation instructions
designed to lower blood pressure or silence. The mean spatial IQ
scores were 8 and 9 points higher after listening to the music than in
the other two conditions. The enhancing effect did not extend beyond
10-15 minutes."
